The Alzheimer Disease and Other Dementias Care Course recognizes that persons with dementia have the same basic needs for security, shelter, nutrition, and affection as other adults, and have the same rights to have these basic needs met. The challenge for caregivers is to meet these needs, as progressive disease symptoms cause increasing dependence.
Celebrating 20 years of providing education in dementia care 1991 - 2011
This year marks the 20th Anniversary of the Alzheimer’s Disease and Other Dementias Care Course. The Committee is very excited to be celebrating this important milestone. As part of the celebration, the Care Course was featured on Breakfast Television on June 22, 2011. The Committee will also be participating in the 22nd Provincial Alzheimer Conference, Alzheimer’s disease . . . It’s more than you think, on November 7th and 8th 2011.
Recognizing the importance education makes in dementia care, the Committee hopes you celebrate this milestone because ‘Education really does make a Difference’.
